  1. This was a pretty fun and simple card game. It kept interesting by gradually increasing the complexity through our creativity in generating rules. I find card games really interesting because with a consistent deck of 52 cards you can play hundreds of different games.

  2. 99 was decent and easy to learn game. I appreciated how it could be simple or more complex depending on how many rounds were played. Card games are not my favorite out of all the games but it was still fun!

  3. I thought ninety-nine was a really innovative way to look at the way rules change a game. the game gave us the freedom to add rules that necessitated action that didn’t directly affect the gameplay (i.e. card values etc) but did have affects on how we were able to play by adding elements of speech or physical action. it really demonstrated how games can change through really simple additions or subtractions. kind of like gamifying the action of playing a game?? maybe.

  4. Interesting way of looking at rules and their affect on gameplay. Fun card game that made everyone more competitive whenever new rules were added. I could see the game getting pretty insane with tons of new rules.

  5. “Ninety-Nine” is interesting in that the progression of the game depends largely on the creativity of its players. In some ways, it becomes a game within a game, as players may be also competing against each other to come up with fun and original rules.

  6. “Ninenty-nine” was fun for its fast pace, and ability to be manipulated by the invention of new rules. I enjoyed these aspects of the game, but found that the game could grow old fast. It lacks the puzzle or bluff elements of my favorite card games. Not to say that it doesn’t have them at all. Overall this game is fun, and akin to a super simple “slap-jack”.

  7. Oh, Ninety-nine is a good game for me which can testiy my reaction time and calaultion. This game is simple and exciting becasue player can experience the danger is coming when the numner is increasing. Moreover, when you changed the game rule, the game become more competitive which test everyone’s reaction time. I love this challenging game alothough it is not very complicated. By the way, the rule is easy to undersytand which is good.

  8. “Ninety nine” is a pleasant card game that symbolizes the power of a deck of cards. This game is incredibly simple and therefore is guaranteed to be different with each set of players. I also noticed that this game requires creativity unlike other card games such as war. I wanted to continue gameplay even after our instructor ended game time but I can also imagine that this game can get old after a few rounds.

  9. Ninety-nine is super fun, and I could definitely see myself playing it for hours.
I could see it getting complicated quickly, though, you defintely need to be in the mindset to keep up.

  10. I like card games that allow rules to be added, so this one was fun. I like that it has a simple enough base game to modify rules to the point of creating an entirely new game.

  11. Simple and fast, 99 requires basic math skills so it is a good game for young kids, and the additional variations that modify the game make it as complicated as you want it to be.

  12. “Ninety-Nine” is an ideal card game for a quick pick-up round. It’s easy to teach and learn, it has a high maximum player number, and it involves just enough strategy to require skill. I found that with its original rules, it became repetitive relatively quickly. Our class modification — the winner adds a rule — kept things consistently interesting.

  13. This game requires quite a bit of attention. In particular, one must always be counting which is a very unusual exercise of the mathematical brain. It seems like the game is purely a game of chance, but the possibility to add on rules keeps it really exciting and challenging.

  14. Love this game!! I’m big on card games but had never heard of this one. In terms of the game lineage of the class, it was definitely good to play physical games before moving onto the digital/coding aspects of games. I think it’s extremely important to play games that involve interacting in a real space in order to fully appreciate the feelings involved when immersing yourself in a game before moving into a digital space.
